“Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”— Matthew 6:21

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”— Proverbs 3:5
We come before You today not just with words—but with our hearts open and exposed before You.
Search us, Lord. Not what we show people… but who we really are.
If there is anything sitting on the throne of our hearts that does not belong to You—remove it. If pride is there, humble us. If fear is there, strengthen us. If control is there, teach us to release it.
Lord Jesus, You are not just worthy of a place in our lives—You are worthy of the throne.
So today, we step down. We surrender our will, our plans, our desires, and our understanding.
Rule over us. Lead us. Shape us. Transform us.
Let our hearts become a place where You reign fully—without competition, without resistance, without compromise.
Have Your way in us today.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
At any given moment, something is ruling our decisions, our priorities, and our direction.
Let’s be honest about the real options:

1. Self (The Most Common King)
“What do I want?”
“What feels good to me?”
“What benefits me most?”
This throne is driven by:
Ego
Control
Comfort
Problem: Self makes a terrible king—it shifts with emotions and circumstances.
2. Others (People-Pleasing Rule)
Living for approval
Fear of rejection
Needing validation
You don’t sit on the throne… people do
Problem: You lose your identity trying to keep everyone happy.
3. Things (Success, Money, Status)
Career
Image
Achievement
The throne becomes performance-based
Problem: You can gain everything… and still feel empty.
4. Christ (The Only Worthy King)
Surrendered heart
Aligned decisions
Spirit-led living
This is not about religion—it’s about lordship
“Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21)
The Real Test (No Talking—Just Truth)
Ask yourself:
What do I run to first?
What controls my decisions?
What do I protect the most?
What do I fear losing?
That’s what’s sitting on your throne.
Straight Truth
You don’t share the throne.
Something—or Someone—rules.
Kingdom Challenge
“Jesus is not just Savior—He must be Lord.”
That means:
Not just believing in Him
But yielding to Him
One-Line Teaching (You Can Use This)
“Whatever sits on the throne of your heart will shape the direction of your life.”
Reflection Questions
Take your time here—this is where transformation happens.
What currently influences my decisions the most?
Is it God’s Word… or something else?
Where do I struggle most to surrender control?
Finances? Relationships? Future? Reputation?
What do I fear losing the most—and why?
That fear may be pointing to what’s on the throne.
When faced with a difficult decision, what is my first instinct?
Pray… or control?
What would it practically look like for Christ to be Lord in my daily life?
Be specific.
What is one area I need to surrender to God today—no delay?
Closing Thought
“You don’t drift into surrender—you decide it.”
And every day… you either take the throne back or you let Him stay there
“You don’t drift into surrender—you decide it.”
And every day…you either take the throne back or you let Him stay there
Father,
Search my heart today. Not the surface—but the real places I try to hide.
If I’ve allowed anything to sit on the throne that belongs to You—remove it.If I’ve been holding onto control, fear, pride, or comfort—expose it.
Lord Jesus, I don’t just want You as Savior—I want You as Lord.
Take Your rightful place on the throne of my heart. Rule my thoughts, guide my decisions, and align my desires with Your will.
Teach me to trust You fully… not halfway. Teach me to surrender daily… not occasionally.
Today, I step down—so You can reign.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
