Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” — Romans 12:12 (NIV)

Lord,
Slow our spirits when our minds are racing. Quiet our frustration when things don’t move at our pace. Teach us to trust You in the process, not just in the outcome. Amen.
Patience grows when we trust God’s timing.
Waiting seasons refine faith more than quick answers ever could.
This morning, while working inside Wix to fix and build an additional website for Sowing Seeds of Joy, I encountered everything that tests patience — confusion, technical obstacles, trial and error, and moments of “why is this taking so long?”
The task wasn’t impossible — it simply required patience.
There were moments when I felt frustrated. Moments when quitting or postponing would have been easier. But I stayed with it. I learned. I adjusted. I tried again. And eventually, I accomplished what needed to be done.
Not only did I finish — I grew.
God used that moment to remind me that small frustrations often carry big lessons. That Wix session wasn’t just about a website — it was about shaping my spirit.
Patience didn’t remove the challenge. Patience strengthened me within the challenge.
Patience is not passive waiting — it is active trust.
Romans 12:12 does not separate hope, patience, and prayer. It binds them together. When hope is strong, patience becomes possible. When patience is practiced, prayer becomes deeper.
I often think patience means doing nothing. In truth, patience means continuing forward with a surrendered heart when progress feels slow, complicated, or inconvenient.
Patience grows when I trust God’s timing more than my own efficiency.
"To lose patience is to lose the battle." - Mahatma Gandhi
What Causes us to Lose Patience?
Wanting immediate results
Fear of wasting time
Comparing my progress to others
Trusting my plan more than God’s timing
Forgetting that growth often feels slow
When I lose patience, I am often saying, “God, I trust You — but I trust my timing more.”
Application Points

• I will pause before reacting when frustration rises.
• I will ask, What is
• I will remember that progress includes learning, not just finishing.
• I will thank God for growth, not only results.
• will practice patience as a spiritual discipline.
Lord, Thank You for reminding me that growth often comes wrapped in inconvenience. Help me to wait without complaining, work without quitting, and trust without rushing. Teach me to see every delay as an invitation to deepen my faith. I choose to wait well. Amen.
