Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being the God who sees us. When we feel invisible, overlooked, or forgotten, Your eyes are always upon us. Today, open our hearts to remember that Your gaze is full of love, compassion, and purpose. Speak to us through Your Word and reassure us that nothing about our lives escapes Your notice. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
"You are the God who sees me," for she said, "I have now seen the One who sees me." – Genesis 16:13 (NIV)
Hagar, an Egyptian servant, found herself abandoned and mistreated, wandering in the wilderness with nowhere to turn. Yet in her pain and isolation, the Angel of the Lord appeared to her. In that moment, she gave God the name El Roi—“The God Who Sees Me.”
We live in a world where people often feel invisible—at work, in relationships, or even in church. But Scripture assures us that God sees our circumstances, our pain, our efforts, and our tears. His sight is not just passive observation—it is active, loving engagement. When God sees, He moves.
A few years ago, a single mother in our community was struggling silently. She never complained, but she worked two jobs, cared for her children, and served at church. One day, a group of women felt led to bless her with groceries, gas money, and a note that simply read, “God sees you.”
When she received it, she broke down in tears. “I thought no one noticed how hard I was trying,” she said. “But now I know God has been watching all along.”
That’s the heart of El Roi—God’s watchful eye reminds us that even when others overlook us, He never does.
Application
Be Encouraged: Even in seasons of obscurity, you are seen, known, and loved by God.
Be Sensitive: Ask God to open your eyes to see others who may feel invisible, and be His vessel of encouragement.
Be Hopeful: If you’re waiting for breakthrough, remember—God’s timing is perfect, and His awareness of your situation means He’s already working behind the scenes.
Lord, Thank You for being the God who sees us. Help us trust that Your eyes are upon us even when we can’t see You working. Use us to remind others that they are noticed, valued, and deeply loved. May our lives reflect the truth that no one is invisible in Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
