Heavenly Father,
Thank You for waking us up today to a fresh supply of Your mercy. We are grateful that no matter how often we fail, Your compassion never runs out. Speak to our hearts through Your Word today and remind us that we can always depend on You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. – Lamentations 3:22–23 (ESV)
When you place an order online, sometimes you’re told, “Sorry, that item is on backorder.” That means it exists—but it’s unavailable right now. You have to wait.
With God’s mercy, that will never happen. You will never pray and hear the Lord say, “Sorry, I’m out of mercy right now. Check back later.” His mercy is infinite, renewed daily, and always right on time.
In the Book of Lamentations, Jeremiah writes these verses in the middle of pain and destruction—Jerusalem was in ruins, and God’s people were grieving. Yet even then, he declared, “Great is Your faithfulness.” That means God’s mercy is not dependent on the state of our circumstances. It’s anchored in His unchanging character.
The story a woman is told who went through a devastating season—job loss, broken relationships, and financial struggle all at once. She shared with a neighbor, “Every morning, I would just sit with my coffee and say, ‘Lord, I can’t do today without You.’ And somehow, every day, He gave me just enough strength and peace to make it through.”
She didn’t get a “lifetime supply” of relief all at once—she got daily portions of God’s mercy. Just like the manna God gave the Israelites in the wilderness (Exodus 16), it was enough for that day, and the next morning, there was more.
Application

Receive it daily – Start your morning with the awareness that today has its own fresh mercy from God.
Release yesterday – Don’t drag yesterday’s failures or guilt into today; God’s mercy reset the account.
Reflect it to others – If God’s mercy is new for you each morning, extend new mercy to others instead of holding grudges.
Rest in it – Mercy isn’t earned; it’s received. Stop striving to earn what God gives freely.
Lord, thank You that Your mercy is never on backorder. No matter how many times I stumble, You meet me with fresh compassion. Help me to live today from a place of gratitude and rest in Your faithfulness. May I be a vessel of that same mercy to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
