SSOJ Vision Trip/Mission Opportunities

La Paz, Mexico

Sowing Seeds of Joy is joining TEAM (The Evangelical Alliance Mission) in taking a one-week short-term team to La Paz, Mexico to assist their missionaries with two wonderful projects.

The first project is Reconcilimar, one of TEAM’s Creation Care initiatives. Gospelife, a ministry established to not only educate people about taking care of God’s creation (earth) but also as a tool to disciple others. Teams are taken on kayaking trips and scuba diving outings, using these adventures at sea to transform lives. The hours spent on the water builds honest friendships via shared life experiences. Relationships and conversations are deepened. And, as conversations deepen, the truths of the Bible are openly discussed. People begin to understand biblical truths and apply them, lives are transformed.

The second project is working with Gospelife Missionaries at El Rancho Camino or as TEAM calls it, “The Ranch.” The Ranch helps serve the community in La Paz through community development. In Mexico, upward of 8 million children and youth have dropped out of school and/or are not working because of a lack of education. The staff at the ranch serves the local community through recreational therapy, as well as programs that prevent truancy (dropping out of school) and human trafficking. The staff provides tutoring, equestrian classes, kids’ clubs, and other outreaches — all geared toward making disciples who know and serve God. The Ranch exists to help people encounter the presence of God, be equipped to do the work of God, and extend the Kingdom of God, all so they can exalt the name of God.
