“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”. Romans 8:28 ESV
Onaga - in one of Nigeria’s major languages is a prophetic word or declaration that means it is working. JJ Hairston and Nigerian gospel artist Tim Godfrey collaborated on the song “Onaga” to encourage believers when facing trials that it is working for their good.
James 1:2-4 tells me that trials are meant to do the opposite of the temptations I am facing. Its purpose is to build my character to look more like Jesus and to persevere. To strengthen my trust and faith in God’s character and stand on the Word of God. In fact we are to rejoice and praise God because he allowed the devil to call me out to tempt me with his evil work. Remember in Job 1:8 when God told Satan, have you considered my servant Job? So when God tells Satan have you considered my servant (insert your name here), what will be your response? To yield to the temptations of the enemy or say yes Lord I am ready for duty? Are you prepared to worship Him and trust God in the midst of the evil storm?
I will yield because I trust God. I know He will never leave me nor forsake me. I yield because I know He loves me so much that He sent His beloved son Jesus Christ to shed His blood for me. I yield because I read in Isaiah 54:17 no weapon formed against me will prosper. I know it is God who is protecting me from the schemes of the enemy. I yield because Abba my Father made me more than a conqueror through the victory Jesus Christ won for me at Calvary. I yield because I am seated in heavenly places in Christ with God. I yield because there is no principality, power of darkness or wicked ruler that is greater than the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Alpha and Omega, El Shaddai - Almighty God, or Yahweh Sabaoth.
The Lord of Hosts goes forth and reigns over heaven and earth and over all armies, earthly and spiritual. All power belongs to God. He controls the visible and invisible Angelic Hosts of Armies. God is a Mighty Warrior sitting on His throne ruling over heaven and the affairs of men on earth. So why should I fear the storm?
God is sovereign and in control of every difficulty I am facing and He is working everything out for my good! I will set my face like flint and be an unmovable tree planted by waters. I will spread my roots by the river so when heat comes, my leaves shall still be green. When I face a season of drought, I will not cease to yield godly fruit or praise God continually. I decree and declare I will not be shaken by this storm; so go ahead devil and shoot your best shot. Watch me praise my God continuously with my mouth as he holds my hand and walks me through the valley of the shadow of death. He will faithfully deliver me from all devilish assignments and schemes brought upon my life. I am trusting in God’s promise that He will work all difficulties out beyond what I could hope or even imagine. Your servant Lori (insert your name here) reports for duty knowing this battle is the Lords’ and I (We) win because of the blood of Jesus. Yes, the blood is my (our) Victory!
