Portugal 2023 Sharing the Gospel through Gospel Music

 

Portugal: Though Portugal is a Catholic country in name, surveys reveal that few have ever read the Bible, and many are unsure of their belief in God.  The pulls of atheism, eastern religions and relativism increase each year.  The number of evangelicals has dropped to 0.4% in the last decade, giving a sense of

urgency to reach this unreached country

with the gospel.

 

Though Europe has no historical ties to

Spirituals or Gospel music, it has a deep love

for this genre which can open doors to reach

people who would never grace the door of a

church!  Sowing Seeds of Joy is partnering

with Avant Ministries and Porto Gospel Music

to use Gospel music to reach the coastal city

of Porto, Portugal with the love of Jesus. 

Porto Gospel Music workshops and concerts

provide a non-threatening platform for

evangelism through personal testimony

and the powerful lyrics sung.

Ten participants are needed:

• Singers (two sopranos, two altos, two tenors)

• Choir Director

• Pianist/Music Director

• Two Prayer Warriors who are good at interacting with people

• Develop Christian character

• Applying biblical principles to daily living

• Present the challenge of fulfilling the Great Commission.

• Foster super-natural worship

Short Term Mission Trip to Porto, Portugal is bound to be memorable, exciting, ordained, and fruitful. SSOJ will join Porto believers in ministry to foster worship and community transformation. The effects of showing Christ’s love and radiance will last long after the team leaves.
